INTRODUCTION:

Vikram Shankar Mathur is a Chartered Accountant based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He holds qualifications including BA (Eco) Hons, FCA, DISA (ICAI), and FAFP (ICAI). After qualifying as a CA on 8th August 1989, he initially spent six years working in the industry with companies such as Ingersoll-Rand (India) Ltd, Crompton Greaves Limited, Cadila Laboratories Limited, and Gujarat Telephone Cables Ltd. In May 1995, he began his practice as a Chartered Accountant, later becoming a Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2002. His sole proprietorship firm, Vikram S. Mathur & Co., Chartered Accountants, was registered in August 1990. He was an official partner in M/s Rajiv I. Ravani & Co., Chartered Accountants from April 2011 to December 2012 and his proprietorship firm merged with M/s Kartik T. Vayeda & Co. in 2011, where he continues to work as a Partner. He also held the position of Financial Controller-cum-Statutory Auditor of CIP MACHINERIES PRIVATE LIMITED from April 1995 up to September 2009.

Mr. Mathur has a significant and long-standing connection to Excel and VBA programming. His interest in programming began with Macro Programming using Lotus 1-2-3 between 1989 and 1990 when DOS was the primary operating system. This interest developed into full-fledged Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Programming with the introduction of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite from approximately 1990-1991. He has been programming Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) since 1995. He states that Microsoft Excel "is/was/will always remain my passion," and he "Speak Excel, Eat Excel and Sleep Excel", literally. Some of his followers refer to him as the "DeadlyVBA.Programmer".

His work involving Excel and VBA includes:

• Creating an entire Cashbook System purely in MS Excel using VBA as the back-end.
• Developing an Income-Tax Return software called Saral2DNew using purely Microsoft Excel between 2003 and 2005.
• Preparing Internal Audit Reports in WordStar and Working Notes in Lotus 1-2-3 during his tenure at Ingersoll-Rand (India) Ltd.
• Developing voucher formats (as Excel Spreadsheets) to be incorporated into a customised ERP system at CIP MACHINERIES PRIVATE LIMITED.
• Preparing around 45 different Pivot-Tables based on exported Sales Register data from Tally software.
• Training staff in the nuances of Advanced Excel formulae and complementing them with VBA Support.
• Recently reactivating his role as an Excel Trainer from 1st January 2025, having actively followed this role from 2009-2021.

He has recently relaunched his career after over 29 years as a Chartered Accountant, focusing on developing worksheets and workbooks.
